Wordless Wednesday: It's Asparagus Time

seasonal, local

'Tis the season for Ontario asparagus right now and I just want to eat it all the time. I know there are lots of fancy things you can do with fresh asparagus, but I will always prefer to just drizzle them with olive oil, then add a bit of lemon juice, salt, and pepper, then roast them in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Hooray for spring vegetables grown close to home.

It's my favourite time of year, and we only eat it in season from local sources. That makes asparagus almost magical. On the bbq with olive oil and a sprinkle of pepper, roasted.

Jennifer, I'm so happy to have found the blog of a fellow Ottawa region vegan! (I live in Aylmer, QC) I found you thanks to your brocoli rice casserole, which I tried last night and my family loved. I love that you are demystifying vegan pregnancy! I have two kids who were both born at home with midwives, Agnes and Courtney. It was awsome! Best wishes! Oh, and I love roasted asparagus too :)
