Just Because I Like You...

vegan chocolate

It's giveaway time! Last week I bought two of these cool-looking, fair-trade vegan chocolate bars from a company called Divine. They come in all kinds of flavours, which is awesome. I figured they'd keep me liberally chocolated this holiday season.

But also, my good friend Kat asked what I wanted for Christmas and, of course, I said I wanted chocolate and socks. Because everyone likes chocolate and socks. And just yesterday I arrived home to find a package FULL of vegan chocolate items from Karmavore. So exciting! (The socks are coming separately, I suspect.) The package contained more than enough chocolate to see me through the holidays, so I'm going to keep that for myself and give away these Divine chocolate bars to two lucky blog reading winners.

I know it's not a giant fancy giveaway, but it's a bit of free, vegan chocolate arriving in your mailbox. That's mail AND dessert.

So if you'd like to enter*, here's what you do. Leave a comment on this post telling me which of the two available chocolate bars you'd like (raspberry or ginger) and also tell me about your favourite pair of socks. The deadline for comments is Sunday, December 18th. At noon (Eastern). My very upstanding mother will draw two winners and I will post the winner's names on Monday morning. If you win, you'll need to e-mail me with your mailing address before Wednesday, December 21st.

Good luck.

J.

ooo free chocolate! Thanks! :)

Would love to try the raspberry.

My favorite socks are ones that I'm actually wearing right now. Knee high. Wool. Warm as heck. Love em.

I'd love to try the raspberry one while wearing my favourite pair of polka dotted socks!

Raspberry! My favorite pair of socks are a thick acyrlic that come just about my boots. They are a dark teal, with bits of green and blue speckled. I have sewed the holes in them shut so many times. I think they are nearing their end.

I would love the raspberry! Also, my favorite pair of socks would have to be knee highs with blue stripes...

Oh. My. Gosh. I love raspberry but the ginger and orange mixed with chocolate sounds SO good, I would love to try that one!

Definitely ginger! My favourite socks are my lumberjack socks.

Ginger and orange sounds like such a unique flavor, that'd be the one I'd have to try!

Oh my gosh, I love socks too! My favorite are these thick funnze purple one with cute penguins on the tops, because penguins are adorable and purple is my favorite color :D

I'm going for the ginger one! Yummers. I don't have a favorite pair of socks - more like a favorite set. They're all ankle socks, since socks that come up any higher feel like they're suffocating my legs. I'd wear loose socks, but they don't work very well with tight pants. :)

I'd love the raspberry! My fave socks are SmartWool, very warm!

Ginger all the way! (written to the tune of jingle all the way)My favourite socks would have to be: my lumber-jill socks - similar looking to the classic lumber-jack socks but instead of grey a reddish purple. Cheers!

ginger, ginger, ginger, ginger...my love for it knows no bounds.

My favourite socks are bright red and fuzzy. Embarrassing to wear in public but perfect for cuddly evenings at home.

I would totally love the raspberry one! It would be delicious beside/on top of a slab of chocolate raspberry torte! My mouth is watering.

My favorite socks are no more. :(
They were mid-thigh high, dove grey, cabled and soft enough to wear to sleep. I loved them to pieces...quite literally.

You're being so generous for someone who is building a house! Those things do not come cheap! Thanks for the giveaway :)

I would love the ginger chocolate bar! My favorite pair of socks are red, warm, and fuzzy. They're usually not for going out. They're just for keeping my feet toasty warm during the 1-2 weeks it actually gets cold here in Florida!

Erin said...

Raspberry! And my favorite socks are nearly-knee-length stripey ones.

I'd love to try the raspberry version. Although I'm sure the ginger is tasty too.

My favourite socks are a hand knit pair that my grandmother made sooo long ago and they are kinda falling apart but I can't ever get rid of them. So soft and warm and cozy. They are dark purpley tweedy coloured wool. There's something about a grandmother's knitting :)

I would like the raspberry one!

And I love socks! We always get a new pair if warm christmasy socks for Christmas every year. I can't say I have a favorite, I love them all! Especially my toe socks because they keep my toesies all cozy.

Wow, you asked for chocolate and socks? Probably the two best things in existence, great thinking! My favourite socks are extra fuzzy thick ones I wear exclusively when I sleep - SO COMFY! & I'd have to say the ginger chocolate, because I've never tried it!

Caz said...

normally, i would say raspberry, but since it's the holidays and i'm feeling fresh, i'm choosing the orange ginger!
my favorite socks are target's slipper-like socks. perfect for keeping your toesies warm in bed.

Becca said...

Raspberry, please :)

My favourite socks are my blue, woolen, knee-high ski socks with snowflakes on them. They are perfect for keeping warm, getting to and from work when I'm crazy enough to wear a dress in Calgary wintertime.

Leslie R. said...

Ooh yay! I choose raspberry. My favorite socks are some Free People thigh highs, all woolen with lace trim. :)

Ohhh Chocolate and Ginger, please!!! My favorite socks are thick cotton that don't fit in any shoes. Living in Santa Barbara I don't really need slippers, but it still gets a little chilly. Love it each winter when I can finally pull out the socks!

Hey there anonymous! I need a name for you, or I can't enter you in the draw!

Keep the comments coming, folks! I'm having lots of fun reading about your socks.

Raspberry+chocolate=heaven.

This time of year, socks is all about the comfy knee-highs! (with stripes of course)

Sarah C said...

Ginger orange! I love ginger+chocolate and I love orange+chocolate, so I image this doubled up combo would be amazing.

Erin said...

Raspberry please! And I'm partial to my Gap argyle socks I've had since high school. Dunno.

Kelly said...

I love all my socks, but especially the pair with bow-tie wearing cats. It makes me happy to know they're hiding under my boots.

And for the chocolate, definitely ginger orange!

Lynn said...

The chocolate would be for my milk-allergic son, so I'd have to go with the raspberry, I think he'd like it better.

As for socks...last year for Christmas I told my husband I wanted the biggest, thickest pair of wool socks ever. He did not disappoint - he bought me some crazy thick hiking socks that are the warmest things ever. I wish I had 10 pairs - they are my go-to socks any time I need a little warmth and coziness.

Raspberry!

My favorite socks are gray and have little green clovers on them. They were in the dollar bin at target and are really soft and have lasted forever

Raspberry!

I love slipper socks - the ones that are shaped like real socks and have little rubbery patterns on the feet, not the ones that are shaped like slippers, and are super-flimsy - but I can't seem to find them anywhere! I have two pairs of Scooby Doo and one Grinch, and all three are getting painfully threadbare. :(

Raspberry for the win!
My favorite socks are knee-high and rainbow striped. I'm actually wearing them right now=]

Veggie Tales said...

Ohlala, I'd want the ginger one! And my favorite socks are knee high knit ones I got at a thrift store years ago...so warm, soft, and they never get smelly. Honestly they have a supernatural sock power. Yup.

Ginger!
My favorite socks are some American Apparel ones I have. But I am getting a couple of hemp socks for Christmas that I am really excited about.

zoom said...

They both sound wonderful, but I'm going with the ginger. My favourite socks are the bright stripey ones I knit myself. It took me forever and I only wear them once in awhile so they'll last.

Deerskin said...

Decisions! I wonder how ginger and raspberry would taste -together- (I suspect very questionable, but it's something to keep in mind...) but I think the ginger and orange has to win. It would melt so beautifully to go over gingerbread...

My favorite socks are more like socks on steroids; giant fluffy brown monsters the size of my head. Just try and get my toes cold, wooden floors, I dare you!

Chocolate and socks are Christmas gifts that cover both necessities and luxuries! I just found some new organic socks at my local co-op that I'm digging. Of the chocolate choices, raspberry sounds best!

Ooooo GINGER! Yum.

My favorite socks are a pair my best friend bought me for my birthday. They have a Chimpanzee on them (I'm big on primates)!

Ali Muise said...

I'd love the ginger one! Ginger is so tasty. :)

Hm, my favourite pair of socks... I've developed an aversion to socks but when I wear them I'd have to say my favourite pair is toe socks with cats on them, and on each toe is a "pad". They're cute!

Raspberry Chocolate is the best...

And I clearly like all socks...the only problem is, I never have any...they always become monkeys...

Vegyogini said...

Ooh, I would love to try the ginger!

My socks are pretty functional; I don't have any that aren't plain!

Aimee said...

Ooo man the ginger sounds delightful! I keep meaning to try these! As for my favorite pair of socks...the thigh high tube socks I bought for a 70s getup that ended being awesome under jeans during Michigan winters!!

Yum!
I just started following your blog and I am so excited! (love when I find vegan blogs)
Anyway, I may as well enter because I love chocolate, duh..
1. Hm they both look good but I would really like to try the ginger one!
2. I LOVED toe socks as a kid. I had a pair for every holiday. They are the best and keep each individual toe warm! (so they are also the most practical) I don't have any in my sock drawer now, so maybe I should ask for some warm toe socks for christmas :)

I would love to munch on the Ginger and Orange one while I curl up in my bright red totes socks. Cozy!!

Ginger Orange for me. My favorite socks are the ones knitted by my daughter. They are purple and very comfy. They may also be the only hand knit socks I receive from her. She said they were a pain to make!

Ginger!!! Yums! My favorite socks? wow. there are so many....but my fav of all time (even though there are now holes in the toes) are a grey pair with spiders with multicoloured eyes on them that were supposed to be halloween only, but I wore them whenever.
