Shortly after our lunch at Rawliciious, we happened by Bunner's Bake Shop which is, by it's own declaration, Toronto's only vegan, gluten-free bakery. Since I've got no beef with gluten (that's vegan humour) and I can bake my own vegan cupcakes, I didn't feel the need to stock up on goodies. However, there was one lonely cinnamon donut calling my name.

It was a baked donut and, despite being gluten-free, it tasted almost identical to the baked donuts I make at home. That is to say, very good.

I would certainly go again if I lived in Toronto. It is so nice to just be able to grab something sweet from a cute bake shop whenever you want. Hooray for vegan bakers.

The place is obviously very popular because a big portion of the goods had been sold by the time we got there in the late afternoon. Torontonians, you are lucky.

Yummy! That looks like a fantastic place to live close too, I think I'd be in there all the time!
We're going to Toronto next month and I hope to visit some of the wonderful restaurants featured here! :)
yummy!
Ummm....so...yeah...those cupcakes look totally awesome!
Oh yeah this place is in the Junction neighbourhood, right? I remember visiting it last spring and getting the most delicious "gypsy" cookie. I must go back!
I love reading your Vegan in Toronto posts :)
I would've gone straight for that donut, too. I do a lot of vegan baking, but you're right - it's nice to be able to try something new without making a dozen of it yourself!
Wowww, how am I just seeing this now!?
Thanks a trillion for visiting- vegan donuts 4 life!

bunner's isn't amazing.
I tried their red velvet and it was slightly gritty. Frosting was nice, though.
butter tart was average.
"creamie: was ok.
I think people just automatically say something vegan is delicious because they instinctively want to support a vegan business (which I do) but the reality in Toronto is that we have lots of choice. we don't have to love ALL vegan options if there are clearly better ones.
Anyway, check it out for yourselves.
