Wordless Wednesday: Auntie Loo's Cake Truffles

cake truffles

The Man of Science surprised me with a box of the special Valentine's cake truffles from Auntie Loo's vegan bakery on Saturday, right after I'd grumbled at him about not putting his laundry in the appropriate basket. Well played, MoS, well played. In return, I offered to make whatever he wanted for dinner on Monday night. We ate a whole lot of chickpea cutlets, brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, and miso gravy. If I hadn't already eaten all the cake truffles, we might have had those for dessert.

Whoa, hold the phone. That was his meal of choice? Are we married to the same person? That is eerily the exact meal my partner asks for regularly. How do you prep your bs? I do a pan sear.

Ha ha ha! That's great. I actually got a great shredded brussel sprout recipe from Whole Living magazine. You shred a bunch of them, toss them with lemon juice, and saute them in a bit of oil until they're bright green, then add garlic, poppy seeds, and soup stock, let it cook a few minutes more and that's it! Super delicious.

WAAAAA wanted to order those babies sooo badly!! Just looking at those pics is making me jealous! Too bad I live a million miles (that's ottawa miles)away from auntie lou's. I had a sneaking suspicion that was what you were talking about on your last blog. I will make it there someday!

Haha, aww - that kind of stuff happens to me way too often. I think maybe I just need to be nicer to my boyfriend because he is so kind...EXCEPT he didn't give ME any cake truffles!!
They look AWESOME, I hadn't heard of those. Maybe you (or I) could try to make your own? Or is that dangerous...
