Wordless Wednesday: Vegan Huevos Rancheros

vegan huevos

I took these photos while I was assembling our Saturday breakfast plates. Inspired by my meal at Sadie's Diner, I layered corn tortillas, refried pinto beans, scrambled tofu, Daiya chedder, salsa, and avocado and then added some homefries for good measure. Do I even need to say it was delicious? I also like how the sun is getting progressively stronger in each picture. Good morning!

I love those pictures! Great work! The food looks good too. I wish I knew how to edit things together like that. :(

please tell me where you buy your corn tortillas! I live in the t-dot and they're impossible to find!

Ciochow: Thanks! New tea towel from Kitchenailia!

HM8: It's easy! If you have photos on flickr you can use something called Mosaic Maker to make it happen. You might even be able to use it if your photos aren't on Flickr. Google it!

Wini: Oh, me too. One of the many reasons I'd be happy living in Toronto.

Esen: Thanks!

Anon: Loblaws has two different kinds of corn tortillas, one is their in-house brand which is kind of bland and not organic and then in the freezer section of the "healthly living" aisle, they have sprouted organic corn tortillas that are really good. Those are the ones I use. But I'm pretty sure if you checked in any large healthfod store or better yet, Latin food store they'd have them.

I like the tablecloth, too - what a neat way to compose process photos! This looks tasty and beautiful.

I just found your blog (by searching for Ottawa food blogs- I just moved to the area!) and I am really enjoying it! Your photographs are lovely! I'm excited to read more about the Ottawa veg*n food scene.

Please stop by Bake+Bike sometime :)
